Hey there! I’m Lauren Scott. I’m a Lifestyle Expert and TV host living in Kansas City.

I was born and raised on the south side of Chicago and consider myself a big city girl through and through! There is definitely a special place in my heart for the White Sox and riding on the CTA.
In April of 2018, I was named a co-host of the award-winning show, WGN’s Chicago’s Best. Being a part of the show helped fulfill a lifelong goal of living in my hometown and helping shine a light on local communities.

Prior to moving to Chicago, I was the morning live reporter at KETV Channel 7 in Omaha, Nebraska. I reported on everything from politics to local events.
Before that, I served as a reporter and producer at 10/11 News in Lincoln, Nebraska. I also hosted the station’s weekly entertainment segment, Star City Buzz.
Fresh out of college, I worked as an associate producer at KPRC Local 2 in Houston, Texas.

I graduated in the spring of 2013 from Northern Illinois University, where I majored in Broadcast Journalism (Go Huskies!). While in school, I produced, edited and hosted my own lifestyle program, Inside the 815. The series was nominated for a Chicago Emmy.
I had my first taste of journalism while writing for my high school newspaper at Walter Payton College Prep. What started off as a hobby quickly turned into a passion. I enjoy being able to tell the personal stories of my community that might not otherwise be heard.

In my spare time, I love keeping up with all things pop culture—from the latest music to Netflix series. I’m also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the National Association of Black Journalists.
